Sounds Found has been a 2 month-long project to document descriptions, words and drawings that refer to sound in an evocative way, without being specifically about music. Primarily a way to pass the time each morning on the commuter train, small sections of the newspaper would be ripped out, stuck in a back pocket and hopefully not lost by the end of the day. S.V

This book, designed by the artist in collaboration with Peter Miles, depicts examples of Stephen Vitiello's practice where visual material and sound became their most proximate. Stephen Vitiello is a sound artist mainly producing installations. Recent solo exhibitions include Museum 52, London and the Contemporary Art Centre of Virginia. Other recent projects include the Sydney Biennial and a performance at the Tate Modern, London.
